Have you ever wondered how the cooks in the cafeteria prepare your food each day? At Gojo Japanese Steak House, there is no mystery. Their culinary wizards reveal their secrets right before your eyes.

Located at 41st and Broadway, Gojo leads you through a labyrinth of doors and Japanese decor as the waiter guides you to your eating – and cooking – station. The menu offers a variety of Japanese favorites, but your entre is only a portion of your dining experience.

Once your personal chef comes to your table, he entertains you with fire and frying while a waitress brings around soup, salad and rice at your pleasure. The entertainment continues when your chef offers the chance to catch a piece of shrimp

The food, overall, is quite good. Preparing all the meals on the same stove in a stir-fry fashion allows flavors to combine for a new taste.  While this cooking style enhanced the flavors, adding their “yellow” sauce can overwhelm, perhaps a choice for the boldest of taste buds.

For around $15-20, you’ll get your fill, making Gojo a nice place for a group dinner where you pay for more than just a meal.
